Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Delhi in the morning and transfer to the hotel for 1 night. After a relaxed day (optional sightseeing of Delhi) enjoy a cultural program in the evening followed by a welcome dinner.
Day 02: We drive to the heart of Rajasthan today for overnight stay at the Somode Palace. Richly decorated walls and ceilings, personalised service from the staff of the “maharaja” and the beautiful location of the palace on a hillock offer an unforgettable experience.
Day 03: A short drive to Mandawa where we stay at the interesting Desert Resort in the middle of the dunes. Afternoon sightseeing of the mansions with their colourful wall paintings and murals.
Day 04: Today we proceed to the fortified city of Binaker and check into the Lalgarh Palace, designed by Sir Swinton Jacob. Afternoon visit to the Junagarh Fort, built by Raja Rai Singh, a general in Akbar’s army.
Day 05: Morning we leave for the medieval town of Jaisalmer, in the heart of the Thar desert, for 2 nights stay at the hotel. Enjoy local folk dances with dinner.
Day 06: Morning sightseeing of the town, known for it’s exquisite “havelis” or mansions, includes the 12th century fort on Trikuta hill, the Jain temples and Gadisar tank. Evening camel ride into the dunes to see the sunset across the Thar desert.
Day 07: Drive to Jodhpur for overnight stay at the hotel. Afternoon city sightseeing includes the majestic Meherangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada, cenotaph of the ruling family.
Day 08: Late morning drive to the romantic city of Udaipur. 2 nights accommodation at the hotel, from where one can normally see peacocks, deer, Nilgai and langur from the premises.
Day 09: Morning city sightseeing includes the City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, Jagdish Temple and Sahelion-ki-Bari or the “Garden of the Maids of Honour.” The afternoon is at leisure.
Day 10: This morning a pleasant drive through the Aravalli range brings us to Ranakpur, where we visit the beautiful Jain temple complex built in 1439. This marble temple has 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars, no two of which are alike. After lunch in pleasant surroundings at Maharani Bagh orchids, we drive to Deogarh where we stay with local ” rawat” or rulers at his residence, Gokul Vilas. The residence is set in lovely gardens overlooking a private lake which is rich in bird-life.
Day 11: Morning explore the colourful village of Deogarh and the fort in its midst. Then drive to Jaipur for two nights at the hotel.
Day 12: Morning excursion to the hilltop Amber Fort, ascended on elephant back. On return visit a small factory for hand-printed fabrics. Afternoon sightseeing includes the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and the museum.
Day 13: Drive to Bharatpur for bird watching followed by the lunch at the Forest Lodge. Carry on to Agra visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route. Stay at the hotel for 2 nights.
Day 14: Our morning city sightseeing will include the Fort, the tomb of Itamud-ud-daula and the dreamlike Taj Mahal. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 15: The morning is again at leisure to explore the bazaars or relax by the pool or perhaps for an optional visit to Dyalbagh, under construction for decades now, some say to match the grandeur of the Taj . Afternoon drive to Delhi airport to connect with the onward flight.
