More than 800 species of birds are found in a country that has less than once percent of the world’s land mass. This tour explores areas known for abundance in avian life. The Phulchowki-Godavari hill itself has no less than 100 different species. Chitwan has recorded around 450 species, and in Koshi Tappu, the variety recorded stands around 250.

Detail Itinerary
BIRD WATCHER’S NEPAL

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu. Meet at the airport and transfer to Godavari Village Resort /Holiday Inn, Kathmandu. Dinner and overnight.
Day 02: A full days exploration of the upper section of Phulchowki Hill for birds. Transfers by Land Cruiser/Land Rover & lunch boxes for mid-day meal. Dinner & overnight at Godavari Village Resort
Day 03: Explore lower side of Phulchowki Hill and the Botanical Garden. Hot picnic lunch will be served on site. Return to Godavari Resort/Holiday Inn.
Day 04: Drive to Malpokhari, Kirtipur and Chovar area for bird watching with lunch enroute and overnight at the resort/hotel.
Day 05: Drive by Land Rover/jeep to Royal Chitwan National Park. Enroute observe many species of bird in Naubise and along the banks of the Trishuli River, depending upon season and time. There is a good possibility of sighting Ibis-bills along the river banks. Arrive Chitwan and drive inside the National Park and check into the lodge. Briefing by Naturalist followed by lunch, and afternoon wildlife activities. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 06: Early morning jungle walk. Breakfast at the lodge. Packed lunch. Watch crocodiles on the river banks in the evening and also view different types of birds from canoe ride.
Day 07: After breakfast, drive to Bees Hazaari Taal at Tikauli Forest by Land Rover/Jeep. Full day spent watching birds. Evening, drive to Tharu Village Resort. Dinner with Tharu Cultural dances.
Day 08: After breakfast, a one and half hour boat ride to Amaltari Ghat observing various birds enroute. From there, walk towards Devi Taal and Churia Hills. Packed lunch route. Return to the Camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.
Day 09: Morning wildlife activity includes an elephant ride. After breakfast, transfer to the nearest airport for flight to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu & transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 10: Transfer to airport for Biratnagar flight. Arrive and transfer to Koshi Tappu W/L Reserve. Briefing by Naturalist. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 11: Full day observing birds around camp area. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 12: Full day bird watching in and around the Koshi river sandbanks and islands. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 13: Transfer to Biratnagar to fly back to Kathmandu.
Arrive Kathmandu and check into the hotel.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 14: Day at leisure in Kathmandu for optional tours/personal activities. We will host a complimentary Nepali dinner with Cultural Show & R/T hotel transfers. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15: Transfer to airport for onward connection.
